Birth Control

Hi! My name is Ashley. So I'm 15 and a sophomore in high school. I know a lot of people say it's awful to have sex at this age but i have a question and I'm not sure if you'll have an answer or not but I guess it doesn't hurt to ask..... so I just started on birth control and I'm dating a guy right now and yes we've had sex. Now that I'm on birth control me and my boyfriend are interested in having unprotected sex and I wanted to get some other people's advice on weather or not it would be a bad idea to let him "finish" inside me...... I just started on birth control this week and I feel like I should defiantly wait a bit before doing this but I'm nervous about something going wrong and I wanted someone else's advice........ is there a chance of me getting pregnant if I do this while on birth control? And if not then how long should I wait before trying this........

Hi Ashley,

Birth control is very effective when taken properly, so make sure you take it exactly as your Dr directed. It's recommended to see a gynecologist every year for a check up once you're sexually active. Dont' be afraid to call the Dr's office and speak to a nurse to ask questions. That's their job and they are happy to help.

According to planned parenthood, the best way to prevent pregnancy is to use a very effective birth control menthod (such as birth control) plus a condom. That way you’re protected from STDs,too and double protected from pregnancy. It takes a week for your birth control to become effective.

Most importantly, don’t EVER do anything you’re not comfortable with just to please a guy. It’s an equal relationship. Check out these helpful sites with more information!
