Early Bird or Night Owl?

Snooze Alarms, Late Movies, and Tired Eyes

Once Upon YOUR Time

By Cinse Bonino

Do you dread morning? Do you hit your snooze alarm a million times every day? Or do you jump out of bed wide awake, clear-eyed, and ready for anything? When you make breakfast do you end up with scrambled orange juice and freshly squeezed eggs, or are you so cheerful and smiley that you actually make other people sick?

I don't have to tell you that night people don't want to be around you in the morning. All that energy and cheerfulness could drive us absolutely crazy.

Everyone has a time of day (or night) that is their best time. It's that time when your mind is the sharpest, when it is easiest to concentrate and focus on what you are doing. For some people it truly is the first thing in the morning. Or at least they are the most alert in the morning and they slowly start to lose it as the day goes on. Some of these people keel over at 7 or 8 o'clock!

Then of course there are those people who could read, study, or talk all night long. They never seem to get tired, no matter how late it gets. But usually if you spy on them in the morning you discover that they either can barely make it out of bed or they crash at 2 o'clock in the afternoon.

So what kind of creature are you -- an early bird or a night flier? Take this month's quiz and find out...
