Get Ready In The Morning Faster!

By Emily Vasquez

Are manic mornings are a regular occurrence? All too familiar with your alarm's snooze button? Yeah, us too. There are some simple fixes to save time and ensure that you can still look perfect, even in just a pinch of time.

Wrinkly Clothes
To get wrinkles out in a pinch, take a hanger with your clothes and leave it in the bathroom while you shower. The steam in the room will rid your garments of wrinkles and you'll be killing two birds with one stone.

Unwashed Hair
A super easy fix for oily, unwashed hair is baby powder! If you don't have a dry shampoo, this works just as well. Just sprinkle, rub, and brush it in. For an even more polished look, pull your hair into a bun or sophisticated chignon.

Outfit Coordination
To pull together outfits quicker, it pays to organize your closet. Depending on your method of creativity, it would help to organize by color, by type of clothing, or by both!

Music Timer
You know how time just flies by when you're getting ready? Ten minute showers turn into half an hour, you try on about five different outfits. Well here's your fix for keeping track of time: Create a morning playlist on your phone or iPod! Shower during the first three songs of your playlist, apply make-up during Problem by Ariana Grande, move onto picking clothes during Fancy by Iggy Azalea, and so on.

Double Up
Certain beauty products can be huge time-savers, such as Benfit's Lollitint lip and cheek stain. Or, use your blush as eye shadow for a cohesive color palette. This will cut down the time it takes to decide what to use each morning.

Liner Assistance
Winged liners are oh so cute, but if you've ever attempted one, you know it's an art. An art that can take up lots of time to execute well. To create a winged liner quick, use this tool: a spoon. By holding up the curve of your spoon against your eyelid, it acts as a stencil to trace the curve and make a perfect wing.

Quick ways to go from simple to stand-out:

  • Red lipstick automatically gives a chic vibe and is perfect for days you don't feel like using much makeup.
  • Spice up a plain T and jeans with a big statement necklace.
  • Add pops of color through jewelry.
  • Add on a cute hair accessory, like a wide headband or hair bow.
  • Toss on a colorful scarf--perf during the chillier fall and winter months!
